Rochdale holds Labour after candidate was suspended

Former Labour MP Simon Danczuk earnedĀ 883 votes in his Rochdale constituency, losing to the Labour Party candidate Tony Lloyd.

Lloyd earned 29,045.

He was forced to stand as an independent candidate about the Labour Party suspended him pending an investigation into allegations about his conduct when he was accused of sending sexual messages to a 17-year-old girl.

Conservative candidate Jane Howard won 14,216 votes.

Danczuk hasĀ held his seat since 2010.

Lib Dem: 4,027 votes for Andy Kelly.

UKIP: 1,641 votes for Christopher Baksa.

Greater Manchester Homeless Voice: 242 votes for Andy Littlewood.

 

YouGov predicted the constituency was a ‘safe Labour’.
