After two recounts, Ceredigion has been won by Plaid Cymru in what turned out to be a four-way battle for the Liberal Democrats only seat in Wales.
Plaid Cymru’s Ben Lake beat Liberal Democrat Mark Williams by 104 votes. Each shared 29 per cent of the vote.
Labour came third and increased their share of the vote by 10.5 per cent, winning 8,017 votes.
The Conservatives also increased their share of the vote by 7.4 per cent but could only manage fourth.
The result means Plaid Cymru won four seats in this election, increasing their number by one from the 2015 vote. However, their overall share of the vote was down.
